 The talented Wennah Wilkers, in co-production with Lloydscompany, will perform an ode to house dance at Bellevue Theatre on 25 February. An international cast of exceptional performers will dance “Our House” to music by Matt Benyayer. The audience is also invited to dance along.

This performance follows after the premiere at the Maaspodium in Rotterdam in 2024. Our House is a co-production with Lloydscompany and an impressive ode to Housedance. This dynamic dance style, known for its energetic footwork, cyphers and sense of belonging, is at the heart of the performance.

An industrial, underground and community atmosphere is created, inviting the audience to participate in the sense of belonging and meditative state of Our House. The music, specially created for Our House by British producer Matt Benyayer (UK), contributes to the industrial, underground atmosphere the performance exudes.

The performance can be seen on Tuesday 25 February at 20:30 at Theatre Bellevue.

Wennah Wilkers

Wennah Wilkers (born 1992 in Tarlac City, Philippines) is a Dutch Filipino dancer and choreographer, raised in Amsterdam. She is known for her unique style in which she effortlessly interweaves contemporary and urban dance. Previous productions by Wilkers have been praised and shown at venues such as Maaspodium, Over “t IJ Festival, Breakin” Convention Netherlands Tour and One Night’s Dance.

Our House is being realised under the New Makers scheme of the Performing Arts Fund. The performance will premiere at the Maaspodium in Rotterdam on 28 September 2024 and visit the Bellevue theatre in Amsterdam on Tuesday 25 February. After that, it will be available for bookings in theatres and festivals.
