Rotterdam hiphop and Lloyd Marengo are inextricably linked. After years of working as a dancer, choreographer, and coach, he founded his own organization in 2019.
The Lloydscompany Foundation creates dance productions and supports emerging artists, using hip-hop as its point of departure. In doing so, we bridge theatre and hip-hop and establish it as a fully recognized art form.

KABITENI
This dance and music performance takes you to a Surinamese village, where Georgetina, the “kabiteni”, is at the helm. Her singing and stories, combined with the energetic hip-hop and Surinamese Awasa dance performed by other performers, form the heartbeat of KABITENI. All this against a backdrop of visuals from Suriname and eclectic, warm and rousing music.

One Night's Dance 2026
Lloydscompany is relaunching One Night’s Dance with Dansateliers. In this project, Lloyd Marengo and Dansateliers are coaching four new talents: Dorrit Griffioen, Oumar Jalloh, Bo Jacobs and Anna Raiola. Starting on 5 February, they will be presenting their work over eight evenings.
