Body to Body: Goals Ensemble X CREATE4 by Ibrah Silas Jackson

Enjoy fluid and explosive movements that depict the experiences of young men of colour to mesmerising, pulsating, and exciting classical music.

Expect an all-encompassing experience where every note and every movement is palpable, and the body becomes as much an instrument as the music itself.

Create4, a dance group led by Ibrah Silas Jackson, engages in an exciting interaction with the modern-classical sounds of the DoelenEnsemble in 'Body to Body'. Lloydscompany guides the group in creating an intense program full of energy, rhythm, and physical expression.

Experience it on Thursday, October 23rd at De Doelen!

ABOUT THE MAKERS

Ibrah Silas Jackson (born 2000) is a dancer, director, and choreographer from Rotterdam with roots in Uganda. He is a dancer with the Ghetto Funk Collective. The foundation of his creations lies in hip-hop culture, but he has also gained knowledge of various movement disciplines such as modern, funky, and African cultural styles. In 2021, he began choreographing theatre pieces. Jackson also directed several short films and music videos.

Jackson also participated in Back to the Lab at Breakin' Convention, where he previewed his new piece, The Hereditary. In this piece, two dancers from Create4 personify the toxic masculinity that we pass down from generation to generation. He performed this piece in 2024 during Breakin' Convention in London and in 2025 at the MAASPodium and the Afrovibes Festival.

For the VIERxVIER project by Theatre aan de Rijn, he created the play "Unravel Threads" with Create4 about the effects of peer pressure on young people.

Create4

Choreographer, dancer, and director Ibrah Silas Jackson (born 2000) forms Create 4 with three other young Black dancers and creators: Juan Jose Markes, Angel Felix, and Sirak Solomoon Areguy. With support from Lloydscompany, Jackson created their first and short performance, Until the Quiet Comes, about the experiences of a young Black man with the dancers. Recently, Create4 performed this as the first Dutch company during the Breakin' Convention Netherlands Tour. With this piece, he was also selected for the European hip-hop dance co-creation project, Attitudes.
