On 25 February, the talented Wennah Wilkers, in a co-production with Lloydscompany, will present a tribute to house dance at the Bellevue Theatre. An international cast of exceptional performers will dance ‘Our House’ to music by Matt Benyayer. The audience is also invited to join in the dancing.

In the autumn of 2024, the talented dancer and choreographer Wennah Wilkers presented her latest production, ‘Our House’, a co-production with Lloydscompany. ‘Our House’ is an impressive tribute to house dance. This dynamic dance style, known for its energetic footwork, cyphers and sense of togetherness, takes centre stage in the production.

An industrial, underground and community atmosphere is created, inviting the audience to participate in the sense of togetherness and the meditative state of Our House. The music, specially created for Our House by British producer Matt Benyayer (UK), contributes to the industrial, underground atmosphere that permeates the performance.

Our House was produced as part of the Performing Arts Fund’s New Makers Scheme. The production will premiere on 28 September 2024 at the Maaspodium in Rotterdam and will be performed at the Bellevue Theatre in Amsterdam on Tuesday 25 February. It will then be available for bookings at theatres and festivals.

About the creator

Wennah Wilkers (born in 1992 in Tarlac City, the Philippines) is a Dutch-Filipino dancer and choreographer who grew up in Amsterdam. She is known for her unique style, in which she effortlessly blends contemporary and urban dance. Wilkers’ previous productions have been acclaimed and performed at venues such as Maaspodium, the Over ’t IJ Festival, the Breakin’ Convention Netherlands Tour and One Night’s Dance.
