FRESH: IBRAH SILAS JACKSON
Ibrah Jackson will be presenting his three latest works at FRESH at the MAASPodium in Rotterdam on Friday 26 September. He created two of them with support from Lloydscompany. FRESH is a platform for young people with big ideas. Every FRESH Friday, a different talented designer curates a full evening’s programme.
The Hereditary
The Theaterkrant:
‘An unrivalled gem of a dance piece about toxic masculinity’ Unseen
n this short film, the thoughts of a black, depressed and addicted teenager drive him out of his flat – his comfort zone – and into the outside world, where time runs backwards – but he does not. He is searching for a way out of it all, but finds the idea utterly terrifying. During his journey through the city, he meets strangers. They are reflections of his depression and addiction, which constantly assail him and force him to reflect on himself.
Until the quiet comes
A young man of colour faces many expectations: from society, his peers and himself. This dance performance is a vibrant journey through the past, where choices have already been made, via the present – where ‘you are who you are’ – to the future, which brings with it new expectations.
Choreographer Ibrah Jackson has created this production with the dancers of Create4. A short version of Until The Quiet Comes premiered in 2024 at Oude Luxor during Breakin’ Convention NL. At Maaspodium, Ibrah and Create4 will present the full-length version for the first time.

Ibrah will be back in April 2026 with a new film and a further developed version of one of his existing works. The full programme for Ibrah’s second FRESH will follow in 2026!
