Lloydscompany Foundation is looking for a board member.

The Lloydscompany Foundation from Rotterdam combines hip-hop and theatre. We create dance performances and mentor the next generation of hip-hop artists, bridging the gap between the street and the stage. Founder Lloyd Marengo grew up in the raw Rotterdam of the 1980s and learnt to dance on the streets. In the 1990s, his hangout in Rotterdam city centre became the epicentre of hip-hop. For years, Lloyd has been an advocate for the recognition of hip-hop and urban arts within the established art world. With his performances, he gives a voice to the underdog, which aligns with our mission to create a world where everyone is equal. Lloyd made a name for himself with the 010 B-boys, who achieved worldwide success, was one of the founders of the HipHopHuis, and worked with companies such as Scapino and Conny Janssen Danst. In 2022, Lloyd won the Golden Swan, and the performance "Unbreakable," in collaboration with the Soweto Skeleton Movers, is currently touring the Netherlands. We are looking for a new board member (secretary) for our board with the following profile:

• Knowledge of the (Rotterdam) cultural sector, particularly the performing arts

• Affinity with hip-hop, dance, and/or theatre

• Strategic thinkers

• Has a wide network

• Open to innovation

• Possesses general administrative skills

• Can manage at a high level, knows how to maintain distance from the organisation.

• Can identify with Lloydscompany's mission, ambition, and vision.

• Is a team player

The position of secretary is for a period of three years with the option to extend once. The board meets an average of four times a year. Your presence at special occasions such as the premieres of our performances is appreciated. The secretary's executive tasks, such as taking minutes, etc., are performed by the organisation.
