Meet the cast of Three little birds
Three little birds is a resounding success! Who actually came up with this children's hip-hop and theatre performance, and who is dancing in it? Meet the cast: choreographer and dancer Giorgio Costa and dancers Pom Arnold and Remses Rafaela!
Giorgio came up with the concept and developed it with the other dancers under the banner of Lloydscompany. The trio has been around in the scene for a very long time. Her dance career began with the breakdance formation Groove Kings, with whom she reached the finals of Holland's Got Talent and Battle of the Year, among other competitions. After that, their paths diverged as they focused on their own careers. Pom Arnold toured the world with Cirque du Soleil and performed in productions by Alida Dors and Lloydscompany. Remses Rafaela shone, among other things, in the performances by Isabelle Beernaert and BBOY van Maas. Giorgio Costa has previously worked with artists such as Broederliefde and Jandino.

ACTION-REACTION
With Three Little Birds, Costa has created his first children's performance. "In a performance for adults, you have to wait for applause at the end. With children, you get an immediate reaction after the action, and it's super spontaneous. Then, for example, people in the audience shout "look behind you, watch out!" at us. That gives you such a warm feeling... it makes you much happier," he explains.
PASSING IT ON TO THE NEXT GENERATION
It won't surprise you then that he was the artistic director of the MBO Albeda Dance College and was named Teacher of the Year in 2019. Passing it on to the next generation is his motto, but also that of hip-hop. From hip-hop, the core values are 'Each one, teach one'. That's why we think it's important to introduce hip-hop to children. It could also be an inspiring moment for those kids, to the point where they might want to practice this style as well."
Remses also sees that hip-hop can be of great value to children. He recently created the children's dance performance "Wijzer." Here too, he showcases his acrobatics and breakdancing skills. "Being together, having respect for others, motivating each other to improve. That's hip-hop. And in my opinion, that's how a community should be."

DANSEN HOUDT JE JONG
The trio holds the children's attention throughout the entire performance. "Dancing keeps you young," says Pom. "So I think we're still enough of children ourselves to create a beautiful children's performance." It also helps that all three of them became fathers not so long ago. "I have two daughters, aged four and six," says Arnold. When we dance, I often try to remember scenarios that have played out at our home. Then I think to myself: how would the oldest or youngest person here react to this?
RECOGNITION FOR ADULTS
At the same time, Costa, Arnold, and Rafaela are also good at bringing adults into their story. "That's how we don't act childish in the show and also incorporate jokes for adults," Costa explains. For example, we set up the tent by doing a lot of things that have nothing to do with setting up a tent. That's funny for children, but adults also find recognition in it. They then think about the times they tried to do these kinds of things with children, which isn't so easy.

ABOUT THREE LITTLE BIRDS
In the performance "Three little birds," we follow the adventure of two brothers who are allowed to camp in their parents' backyard on a warm summer day. The audience enters the rich fantasy world of the two boys: the garden transforms into a vast forest where the brothers go on a journey of discovery and experience all sorts of adventures.
As soon as evening falls, the brothers hear strange noises... When they go to see where the sounds are coming from, they meet a somewhat strange new friend...
