Lloydscompany on TV in 'Dance with Me'

Lloyd Marengo and his company, Lloydscompany, are featured in the NTR documentary 'Dance with Me, 25 Years of Dutch Dance Days'. This series will be broadcast in three parts on NPO2 starting Sunday, October 9, 2022. Redo (Redouan Ait Chitt) and Jan Kooijman present it and shed light on classically trained dance and breakdance.
DANS MET MIJ
In '25 Years of Dutch Dance Days', a selection of ballets and choreographies can be seen that former dancer and actor Jan Kooijman, and internationally renowned dancer Redo (Redouan Ait Chitt) are eager to share with the Netherlands. Because the Dutch Dance Days are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, the men have delved into the festival's archive. Additionally, there is a report from a large-scale battle showcasing the very best in urban arts. There will also be a performance by the Junior Company of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, and choreographies by Remy van Tilburg and Lloyd Marengo can be admired.
Jan and Redo comment on the pieces shown during the broadcast. They help the viewer gain access to the craftsmanship of both classically trained dancers and breakdancers. Additionally, the presenters ask each other questions about how dance has changed their lives.

THE DUTCH DANCE DAYS
This year, the Dutch Dance Days landed in Maastricht for the 25th time. Especially for this special anniversary, Dutch dance was celebrated in a grand way. In theatres, at special locations throughout the city, and from online platforms, but also for the first time from the 'Danstent' on the Vrijthof – an interactive stage in the heart of the city. Under the motto "Dance with Me," over 100 activities brought together the public, creators, companies, amateurs, and professionals to celebrate dance in all its forms. From classical ballet to urban, from renowned companies to the next generation of choreographers, from theatre to film and events for a young audience. This year, dance was experienced like never before.
