Ibrah Jackson selected for European Attitudes program

With their first piece, Until the Quiet Comes, Lloydscompany presented Ibrah Jackson at the Creative Europe Project Attitudes. The jury was enthusiastic and selected Ibrah with dancers Juan and Angel for Attitudes. He will further develop his work The Hereditary and perform in six countries: Kampnagel in Hamburg (DE), Dansekapellet in Copenhagen (DK), Malmö Dance Week in Malmö (SE), Norrlandsoperan in Umeå (SE), and at the HOP Festival in Barcelona (ES).
THE HEREDITARY
At the Breakin' Convention, he participated in Back to the Lab and previewed The Hereditary. In this duet with Angel and Felix, he explores the deeply ingrained, toxic masculinity passed down from generation to generation; sometimes actively through the presence of a father, and other times precisely through the absence of a father figure. In a physical dialogue mixed with hip-hop dance, the dancers share their experiences and learn from both their differences and their similarities.
Ibrah showcased The Hereditary at Breakin' Convention London, a groundbreaking hip-hop theatre festival, in May 2024. This was very well received.
