Little, Little Bird

AN ADVENTUROUS HIP HOP DANCE PERFORMANCE (4+)

In the performance "Little, Little Bird," full of tricks, hip-hop and breakdance, acrobatics, and acting, we follow the adventure of two brothers who are allowed to camp in their parents' backyard on a warm summer day. The audience enters the rich fantasy world of the two boys: the garden transforms into a vast forest where the brothers go on a journey of discovery and experience all sorts of adventures.

As soon as evening falls, the brothers hear strange noises... When they go to see where the sounds are coming from, they meet a somewhat strange new friend...

Playing period: February to October 2025

"This recognition (...) makes the children feel that they are allowed to be there and that their presence is important to the 'children' on the playground,"

– the Theaterkrant.

"The 23 handstands, jumping over four backs, and the funky train in the colourful garden, it's all equally infectious,"

– de Volkskrant.

ABOUT THE MAKERS

"Little, little bird" is an idea by choreographer and dancer Giorgio Costa. Giorgio is creating this performance in collaboration with the performers, under the banner of Lloydscompany. Giorgio Costa collaborated with artists such as Broederliefde, Maan, Jandino, and Glennis Grace. Additionally, he was the artistic director of the Albeda Dance College, a vocational school, and was named Teacher of the Year in 2019.

In "Klein, klein vogeltje," Giorgio joins forces with his dance partners Pom Arnold and Remses Rafaela. The trio began their dance career in the breakdance formation Groove Kings, with whom they reached the final of Holland's Got Talent and Battle of the Year, among other things.

Pom Arnold toured the world with Cirque du Soleil and performed in productions by Alida Dors and Ish. Remses Rafaela performed in shows by Isabelle Beernaert and BBOY van Maas, among others. He recently created the children's performance "Wijzer."
